Whilst I am a child of the mountains, I find great contentment whenever I find time to walk the deserted beaches of North Queensland.
Mossman and Newell Beach are located 80 minutes drive north of Cairns via the picturesque coastal Captain Cook Highway.
Mossman, the sugar town with cane trains chugging up the centre of the main street.
Mossman public toilet…..an example of public convenience excellence.

Newell Beach at the river estuary….my favourite place in all the world for contemplating life.
